Fact about fat burners: …"Most people buy fat burners thinking that if
they take it like a daily vitamin, their fat will magically melt off”…
The reality is that Fat burners are more like supporting supplements.
There are good ones, and bad ones. Bad ones being those companies
who want to make a quick buck off of the hype and off of people’s
emotions. Those usually do nothing for the cause, other than playing
with people’s minds. The problem originates in that since they are
non-prescription supplements they are largely unregulated. All Retailers
need to do is to make sure the words "these statements have not been
evaluated by the FDA" appear on the label, and they can pretty much say
anything they want. Which has lead to claims between competitive
retailers, each trying to out-do the other.
Fortunately, here in The Unite States, the "
Federal Trade Commission”
imposed regulations that protects consumers against some of these
unsubstantiated claims, but there are too many products on the market,
and the FTC finds itself short on resources to monitor any but the
smallest percentage of these products. As a result, only a smaller
portion is approved, and it is generally comprised by those most
trusted, well known nutrition companies who have spent a lot of money
building their brand, and care about the trust their products offer.
Something you want to keep in mind when looking for any supplement.
So yes, the good fat burners are
in the market, and they will bring results with discipline! They are
meant to help you achieve your ultimate goal; fat loss. One attribute of
fat burners is that they will give you energy; this will help increase
your workout performance. This way, the more energy you have the more
movement and vigorous your workouts can be, which in turn help you burn
more calories. Another quality is that they trigger natural hormones
that influence anabolism to optimize the pulling of proteins and amino
acids for muscle building, as well as catabolism to improve the break
down of food. Last but not least, fat burners can be appetite
suppressants. You will eat less, crave less, and feel fuller faster. All
in all, it will get you closer to burning fat..
Once you are ready to give it a try, the dilemma is "Which fat burner is best for you?”
The
truth is that with so many fat burners in the market, and so much
diverse information, it is very hard to figure out which one of them
fits you best. Let’s start by understanding that beside the large number
of products, there are also different types of fat burners: Thermogenic
fat burners, stimulant-free fat burners, carb and fat blockers, Thyroid
hormone increasers, appetite suppressant, and others…So, the best way
to decide is to know exactly what to expect from them.
To give you a helping hand, here is some brief information about some of the most common ones:
Thermogenic:
Essentially, they work by enhancing
the metabolism, which generates additional body heat. This body heat
requires fuel to be maintained, in which case excess fat is an ideal
fuel to sustain this process. In turn this fuel consumption leads to
experience an increase in energy available for physical activity, and
fat loss. Good examples are: Hydroxycut Hardcore X, Nutrex Lipo 6 Black (His), Nutrex Lipo 6 Black (Hers), and VPX Meltdown.
Stimulant-Free:
These are the same thermogenic fat
burners, but they are ECA (Ephedra, Caffeine, Aspirine) free. They may
not generate same results as with stimulant, but they are a safer
alternative for those who need to stay away from any stimulant,
including caffeine. E.g. Universals Nutrition Super Cuts 3.
Carb / Fat Blockers
: These are great supplements to use
alone or in combination with other fat burners. They promote weight
loss by inhibiting regulatory enzymes responsible for carbohydrate and /
or fat digestion; therefore calories from these macro-nutrients are
limited from being reabsorbed and stored. E.g. "BSN Cheaters Relief” has
reported good testimonies from consumers. More examples: Chitosan (Fat
blocker), Garcinia Gambogia (Carb blocker), etc.
Thyroid Regulators
: These supplements work to regulate
or optimize thyroid functions, so it can perform at a much higher
level, thus enhancing directly and indirectly not only fat loss, but
muscle gain as well. The most common ingredients found in these fat
burners are Guggulsterones and Forskolin. E.g. Guggulbonic, Universal
Animal Cuts, Evolution Labs AdrenEvol etc.
Appetite Suppressant:
This type of supplements aid weight
loss by blocking hunger! They help you feel more satisfied after
eating, and/or delay hunger. This way, you have more control over your
diet (what to eat, and how much), thus avoiding over indulgence. In
turn, you will definitely see weight loss! E.g. ALR Hyperdrive,
Yohimbine, etc.
In conclusion, fat burners are great supporting supplements. They
help in achieving your goal of fat burning, and weight loss, but do not
expect them to do all the work. Fat burners as any other good supplement
deliver results only in combination with a healthy diet and regular
exercise. So now that you know which is the best fat burner for you,
increase your meals to at least 4 to 5 a day, cut each meal smaller, do
not forget to include veggies, fruits and lean protein, drink plenty of
water, and add cardio and resistant training to your physical activity
at least 3 to 4 times a week, and you are without doubt on your fast
track to a healthier and fitter you!
